  • Degrees or diplomas in Tourism and Travel Management, Hospitality, Tourism, Archaeology, B.B.A., B.A., M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., M.B.A. in Hospitality Tourism and Travel, or P.G. Diploma in Travel and Tourism, Hospitality.

Additional Requirements

  • Proficiency in MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, and Windows is required.
  • Willingness to work in the field is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in both Hindi (Devanagari script) and English is essential.
  • The maximum age limit for applicants is 40 years as of the last date of application submission.

Selection Process

The selection process for the fellowship is rigorous, ensuring that only the most qualified and passionate candidates are chosen.

Candidates must apply online through the Tourism Department’s website. A key part of the application is the Statement of Purpose (SOP), which must be a 500-word document uploaded with the application form.

A departmental screening committee will review all applications based on the following criteria:

  • Ambiguity Check: Incomplete or unclear applications will be rejected.
  • Duplicity Control: Only one application per candidate, linked to a unique email ID, phone number, and name, will be accepted.
  • Eligibility Check: Only graduates (with at least 60% marks) or those with higher qualifications (post-graduates or Ph.D. students) are eligible.
  • Age Criteria: Applicants must be under the age of 40.
  • SOP Submission: Applications missing the required 500-word SOP will be rejected.

Evaluation of Applications

Once the applications pass the initial screening, they are evaluated based on objective scoring and an interview.

Educational Qualification:

  • Graduation
  • Post-graduation/M.A./M.Phil./PG Diploma/MBA in relevant fields.
  • Ph.D. in Tourism & Travel Management or Archaeology.

Other Legal Criteria:

  • Research work or articles published in UGC CARE-listed journals.
  • Awards from recognized institutions.
  • Any other significant achievements.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 6 months to 2 years.
  • More than 2 years (Note: Ph.D. duration is not counted as work experience).

Interview

Candidates who score well in the objective evaluation are then called for an interview. A three-member selection committee assesses the candidates based on:

  • Personality and Enthusiasm: The candidate’s personality, general knowledge, and enthusiasm for work are evaluated.
  • Statement of Purpose: The SOP submitted with the application is reviewed, and the candidate’s understanding and vision are assessed.

During the interview, candidates must present original and self-attested copies of all documents submitted with the application. The educational qualifications will be verified during this stage.

Final Selection

The final selection will be based on the total marks obtained from the objective scoring and interview. The top 25 candidates will be chosen, with an additional 25 placed on a waiting list. In case of a tie, the older candidate will be given preference.

Training Program

Selected candidates will undergo two weeks of training at the Kanshi Ram Institute of Tourism Management in Lucknow. This program will include lectures from experts from esteemed institutions such as FHRAI New Delhi, ITTM Noida, IHM Lucknow, FCI Aligarh, and the Institute of Archaeology Delhi.
